On November 2, 2017, the Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise (CPPPE) will be hosting a luncheon panel discussion on Acquisition Reform within the Department of Defense (DoD). Continued challenges with defense acquisition programs have resulted in Congress directing major organizational changes within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. This included splitting the responsibility of the Under Secretary of Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics between two new positions - - an Under Secretary of Research Development and Engineering, and an Under Secretary of Acquisition. CPPPE will be releasing its research findings on how these changes will impact acquisition planning, processes, and strategies, as well as other process changes that may be needed. In addition to the Center’s findings, the panel will feature the perspectives of key leaders and Decision Makers from the Private Sector, Congress, and DoD.
Our panelists for this event includes:
Louis Kratz, Vice President and Managing Director of Focused Logistics, Lockheed Martin Corporation (Former Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense of Logistics Plans and Programs)
William Lucysyhyn, Director of Research & Research Professor, Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise, SPP, UMD (Former Air Force Officer, and Former Program Manager & Principal Technical Advisor to the Director, DARPA)
Stan Soloway, President & CEO, Celero Strategies, LLC ( Former President and CEO of Professional Services Council (PSC), and Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense ~ Acquisition Reform)
